Today's separatist movement is not your grandparents' western alienation. In this talk, Dr. Jared Wesley delves into research conducted by the Common Ground team at the University of Alberta to uncover the profile, motivations, and strategies of separatists in Alberta. The talk concludes with an analysis of what federalists may do to counter this threat to national unity. 

Jared Wesley is Associate Dean (Graduate Studies), Co-Director of the Peter Lougheed School of Politics and Democracy, a professor of political science, and member of the Black Faculty Collective at the University of Alberta. He studies the links between public opinion, public policy, and political culture. His career path has included several senior management positions with the Government of Alberta.

Based in Edmonton, Alberta, he is a lucky husband and proud father of two daughters.
